He Performed Divination for the White Man
Patakín:
It is said that Osa Meyi performed divination for the white man when he was coming into the world. He had advised the white man with the poem:
Oyi Obade Awa / Oyi Owawun Akun / Oyi Regua -- Oyi Begun / Oyi Rogbon -- Oyi Rogbon / Adifafun Nigbeti Eyibo Maa Gunle Sikole Aye
The white man was advised to make sacrifice so that he could be capable of creating, inventing, developing, and reaching great heights --- to enjoy honor and universal respect. He did the sacrifice.
When this odu falls for a person, they will have a child who will enjoy the respect of all.

01The Path of the Contemptuous Man — Yewere

Patakín:
Koko De Oju Orokun O Pinona de Ori Apata Poruru --- these were the Awos who divined for Yewere the Contemptuous One on the day he was going about afflicting Ijegbe and Ejegbo. They told him he must not afflict anyone, but he said he would --- and he did.
Ebbo: Two pigeons, nine obikola, one ceremonial axe, one ceremonial machete.
Yewere was a collector of tributes for the king of Ile Ife. When he traveled to the towns of Ijegbe and Ejegbo to collect, he stopped to visit the Babalawos of those lands. They told him clearly: you must not beat or abuse the people of these towns. He heard them and ignored them, and abused those people anyway.
When he returned home he found his entire family prostrate on the ground, stricken by illness. He went again to the same Babalawos, who asked him:
"Tani Yewere Baja --- What contemptible thing comes now to fight?"
They told him that unless he made ebbo, he would not overcome what had come. Yewere made the ebbo with the prescribed offerings. The Babalawos came and recited Ifá over him:
"We drive death away from these lands today --- he who holds you in contempt goes about afflicting Ijegbe and Ejegbo with that contempt --- we drive the epidemic from this land --- he who holds you in contempt deliberately, goes about afflicting Ijegbe and also Ejegbo with that same contempt."
The one who abuses the counsel given for others will find the same affliction returning through his own door.
