The Orangutans Who Wanted to Become Human

The Orangutans went to Orunmila's house wanting to be made human. He told them to make ebbo and maintain strict silence about it, so as not to anticipate events. They had previously gathered, however, and decided that Olofin would solve the problem without their needing to do anything.
When Eshu came to tell them that Olorun was going to make them human the next day, their joy was so great that they forgot Orunmila's warning, and began to dance and celebrate, singing: "Tomorrow Olorun is going to make us human."
Elegwa heard their disobedience and went and told Olorun. Olorun summoned them all and said: "Put your hands on the ground." They obeyed, very happy. Then Olorun said: "Since you speak everything before it happens --- so you will stay all your lives." And they remained animals.
Note: By not making the ebbo properly, your expenses will be those of animals --- and by your own mouth you will be lost.
